Introduction
What if there was a special platforms for burger lovers?
Burghers is an online food ordering app, exclusively for ordering burgers. The idea came to mind because passion for eating burgers led me to look every time for the best burgers, either in my own country, or in countries I visited.
Branding & Naming
The Name
A Burgher is a citizen of a town or city, typically a member of the wealthy bourgeoisie. The idea is to upgrade the burger from a popular junk food to “privileged” junk food
The Design
Design-wise the logo is made out of 2 elements, an burger linear icon the most classic burger a cheeseburger and the typography is the Galano Grotesque font with some rounded corners. Both the icon and the font have the same radius of rounded corners of 7pixels, for a “calmer” look and feel.
Ui & Visual Design
Typography
The font chose for this app is the Galano Grotesque Font
Galano Grotesque is a geometric sans in the tradition of Futura, Avant Garde, Avenir and the like. It has a modern streak which is the result of a harmonisation of width and height especially in the lowercase letters to support legibility.
H2: Galano Grotesque regular - 19 pt
H3: Galano Grotesque medium - 20 pt
Body Text: Galano Grotesque regular -16 pt
Colour
For this concept I decided to use the range of warm colours.
Warm colours include red, orange, and yellow, and variations of those three colours. These are the colours of fire, of fall leaves, and of sunsets and sunrises, and are generally energising, passionate, and positive.
Red and yellow are both primary colours, with orange falling in the middle (making it a secondary colour), which means warm colours are all truly warm and aren’t created by combining a warm colour with a cool colour. Use warm colours in your designs to reflect passion, happiness, enthusiasm, and energy.
